Top 10 Valentine’s Day Ideas for everyone in Polokwane

Are you spending Valentine’s day in Polokwane? No problem the Cycad team is here to help you get past that last minute crisis moment of “what to do” & “how to spoil her/him..”
Cycad Guest House has been operating from Polokwane since 1995 so we can confidently say that we know the city and where to go. Trust us when we say.. this is what you should do for Valentine’s Day.

Okay we must admit our fellow Polokwaners are not all the same and we have therefore come up with 5 solutions, for 5 different kinds of people and budgets.

  1. Gifts, gifts and more gifts

If you are a sucker for romantic surprises, you’ll probably shower your partner with gifts..

Our friends at Review came up with a cute idea of 7 gifts for each day leading up to V-day and we would love to share our take on it. It is too late for a 7day plan, but perhaps planning it for on the day…

Start by serving her breakfast in bed. When she arrives at work, make sure there is a bunch of roses on her desk. Buy a real cheesy looking V-day teddy and have it delivered during the morning. Pack a special lunch box for her and leave a romantic note. Let someone handover a delicious afternoon chocolate with your name on it. Pick her up from work and whisk her away for a romantic evening out.

Remember this will only work if your partner likes surprises and if you are a workaholic who generally don’t get time to eat your apple between 8 and 5, this will probably be you least favourite option.

  1. More time to relax… book a spa treatment

If you have time on your side and your partner’s boss won’t mind if you steel him/her away from work..
I would definitely go for the spa option.

Natural Living Spa & Wellness Centre is the city’s leading day spa with bushveld-style urban retreat features. They have a package for every kind of budget. For Valentine’s Day you can spend anything from R 250 pp to R 2000 per couple for up to 5 treatment, sparkling wine and fruits. This offer is so tempting you will need to book NOW.

You will feel like a new person. GUYS, just a little bit of advice… don’t book a spa treatment and a fancy dinner right after. You will feel very relaxed and lazy after the treatments and it will be spoiled with having to rush for your next stop. Oh and she will need time to shower, and dress-up so that she can look her best for you.

  1. The “Just another busy Wednesday” option

You might be busy, but believe me your partner still expects something. If your schedule is hectic or your workload is the kind that goes into the night… pick her up from work at lunch time a spoil her with lunch at Coco Affair for only R 235 pp. The team at Coco’s are used to their corporate clients stopping by for a quick bite to eat, BUT the restaurant also has a surprisingly romantic atmosphere… a perfect best of both option. The menu sounds incredible and I can’t wait to see their cakes for V-day. They really know how to make you forget of any kind of diet.

For the couple’s who have even less time, they have another option… Cake & Coffee with your other half for only R 45 pp

  1. Back to basics.. Movie Night

Unless you are living under a rock you will know exactly what I am about to say. Take her out for a movie, but not just any movie.. Fifty Shades Freed is on at Mall of The North 17:30 and 20:00 on 14 Feb. Need I say more?

If you want to increase your chances to get lucky, check out the mall’s V-day competition. 3 Lucky people stand the chance to win an American Swiss jewellery piece in celebration of Valentine’s Day! Click Here to see how to enter

  1. Make a date with Saskia

Dinner plans? Saskia Restaurant is preparing a romantic royal feast for two.

The team at Saskia is pulling out all the stops to make sure this will be the most romantic night at the restaurant since it opened. For only R 350 pp you will be treated to an indulgent buffet menu with a huge variety of tempting options. The menu sounds Yummy!

I look forward to the Lamb Shank Wellington with Saskia Guess What Wine jus, but the lavender Crème Brûlée got my attention first. It gets even better, you can spend the night at the hotel…

You have to book!

If I had it my way I would have all 5 solutions in one day… but I will need to ask for V-day leave. So maybe it is better to choose and my winning options are.. Drumroll..  Fifty Shades at 17:30 and a date with Saskia at 20:00.

Where will you go?
